A Life Dedicated to Service
Dr. Sarojini Agarwal was born in Chitsauna village, Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Shri Chander Sen Agarwal, was a teacher, and her mother, Smt. Vidyawati, was a housewife. Sarojini was an intelligent and meritorious student who consistently topped her class from grades I to XII.
Education and Marriage
After completing her intermediate studies, Sarojini was admitted to the MBBS program at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. She graduated with her MBBS degree in 1969. In 1970, she married Dr. O.P. Agarwal, an MBBS graduate from J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Following her marriage, Dr. Sarojini Agarwal also joined J.N. Medical College, AMU. She earned a Gold Medal D.G.O. (Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics ) in 1972. In 1975, she completed her M.D. in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Simultaneously, Dr. O.P. Agarwal also completed his M.D. in Medicine from J.N. Medical College. During her time at AMU, Dr. Sarojini Agarwal served as a registerar in Gynaecology and Obstetrics for three years.
Medical Career and Contributions
Upon completing her studies, Dr. Sarojini Agarwal joined Cantt General Hospital in Meerut Cantt as a Lady Medical Officer in 1975, where she dedicated herself to serving the poor and needy. In 1986, she established Dayanand Nursing Home. Since then, she has worked as a senior consultant in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Dayanand Nursing Home. She is a renowned gynaecologist in North India and was the first to introduce Hysteroscopic and Gynaecologic Laparoscopic Surgery in North India in 1993. She also authored a book titled “Hysteroscopy – A Clinical Approach.”
Political Career and Contributions
Dr. Sarojini Agarwal devoted her life to society through her roles as a medical professional, politician, academician, and social activist. In 1995, she was elected as the Chairperson of the Zila Panchayat in Meerut and began her political career with the Samajwadi Party. As the Zila Panchayat Chairperson, she focused on the upliftment of women and children in rural areas.
1997, the Samajwadi Party appointed her as the National Secretary. She served in this position until 2010, working tirelessly as a social activist and political leader. During the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, she held several important positions, including Member of the Managing Committee of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Agriculture University in Meerut, and Member of the State Pollution and Development Commission. In january 2005, she was appointed as a Member of the SC-ST Commission of Uttar Pradesh, a position she held until February 2007.
On January 31, 2009, Dr. Sarojini Agarwal was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) from the Samajwadi Party. She was re-elected on January 31, 2015, for a second term. During her tenure as an MLC, she continued to serve the poor and needy. On August 4, 2017, she resigned from her position as an MLC with the Samajwadi Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on August 12, 2017. In 2018, she was elected as an MLC from the BJP for the third time.
Social Activities
National president of Vaishya Jagrukta Foundation (Reg. No. 180/2008-09). She is serving the Vaishya Community in all Districts of Uttar PradeshShe is National President of Aseem Nari Shakti Organisation. Keeping in view the rising crime against girls across the country, she started Aseem Nari Shakti under which she organized several self defense teaching program for the college girls in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Agar, Mathura and Lucknow. She is working regularly for empowerment of women. Along with Dr. O.P. Agarwal, her husband she started City Vocational Public School (CVPS) in Meerut in 1990 and she is chairperson of City Vocational Public School.
In 1997 they started Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) in Meerut. After this they started Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) in Greater Noida in 2001. Dr. Sarojini Agarwal is Chairperson of NIET, Greater Noida. On 4 the July 2015 they started constructing NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (Medical College) in which a Hospital having 350 beds in functional.
Family Life
Dr. Sarojini Agarwal is the proud mother of three daughters: Dr. Himani Agarwal, Dr. Neema Agarwal, and Dr. Shivani Agarwal. She ensured each received a quality education. Dr. Himani Agarwal, a Radiologist with MBBS and DMRD qualifications, manages the renowned Om Imaging and Diagnostic Centre (P) Ltd. in Meerut. Dr. Neema Agarwal, holding an MBBS and MD in Radiology, serves as an Associate Professor in Radiology at Sharda Medical College. Dr. Shivani Agarwal, also with an MBBS and MD in Radiology, works as an Associate Professor at Mulayam Singh Yadav Medical College in Meerut.

Her relentless work of public service for nearly forty years earned her several accolades.
They included:
-“Mahila Gaurav” award by Dainik Kesar Khushboo in 1996,
-“Millenium Woman” award by Photo Journalist Association in 2000,
-“Vaishya Ratan” award by Vaishya Manch in 2001. On 3rd November 2014 -“Powerful
Mahila” award on behalf of Zee News, was awarded by the Honorable Chief Minister Shri
Akhilesh Yadav ji.
-“Women Excellence” award in the programme organized by the Fikki Auditorium on
behalf of Shee News. Only 51 women were selected for “women Excellence” award out of
whole country
-“Excellence in Education” award in Uttar Pradesh. C.M.A.I. Association of India
organized a National Uttar Pradesh Education award programme 2014 in Taj Hotal
Lucknow.
-“Jewels of Western Uttar Pradesh” award on December 2014 on behalf of Time of India,
was awarded by the Honorable Governor Shri Ram Naik ji.
-“V-India Award” by V-TV for Woman Entrepreneurship on 6th March 2019.
-“Outstanding Contribution Award” by Woman Wing of IMA Meerut on 26th June 2019
-“Life Time Achievement Award” by IMA Meerut for Excellence Medical Services on
